The Low Code Foundation

The organisation behind NodeGX

The Low Code Foundation looks after NodeGX, NodeGX Studio, the NodeGX community site and the guide. Richard Osborne set it up in March 2024 to carry Noodl on after its company stopped developing it.

What it does

Three jobs

Releases

Keeps NodeGX released

A signed desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux, and the packages on npm. Everything it publishes is open source. The editors are GPL-3.0. The parts that ship inside your app are MIT, so you can change them without giving the changes back.

Community

Keeps the community open

A question-and-answer site, a chat, a guide and regular video meet-ups, all readable without an account. community.nodegx.io and learn.nodegx.io.

Low code for good

Builds apps free for charities

Apps for charities and community groups that cannot pay for one, built in NodeGX and handed over whole, starting with the two below.

Low code for good

Free apps for charities and community groups

In France, NoCode for Good puts volunteer builders in touch with charities that need an app. The Low Code Foundation does the same with NodeGX. If your charity or community group needs an app and can’t pay for one, ask us to build it.

Three phone screens of a church members' app. The feed has an event, a prayer vigil, and
a testimony with one heart. A prayer request shows that one person prayed. The admin page
lists two new members waiting to be let in.

Community app

Members share posts, photos, prayer requests and events. Nobody sees anything until an admin lets them in. Admins can hide a post or block someone without deleting anything.

Three phone screens of a marketplace called Market Square. The shop lists sellers in
Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya. A basket holds a pepper sauce from Ghana and a drink from
Nigeria, paid separately in cedis and naira. An order shows each seller's part waiting
                      to be confirmed.

Marketplace

Small sellers list what they sell, with photos. A buyer fills one basket from several sellers, even in different countries. They pay each country’s sellers in that country’s currency.

These are the first two. The people and shops in the pictures are made up.

1

Your request

Fill in the form below. Tell us what the app should do and who will use it.

2

We build it

We do the AI coding in NodeGX. You don’t pay for an AI coding service or a developer.

3

It’s yours

We hand over the app with the NodeGX editor, or with an editor made for your app if you’d like one. You change the app and look after its data yourselves. Nothing ties you to us, to a paid host or to an AI coding subscription.

We’ll reply by email.
